Usually I’m dead against announcing too many of my plans or hopes or dreams too far in advance. I am certainly not a fan of trying to make a resolution that is going to be hard to keep and make me feel bad. You see, I’m a bit competitive…even with myself. Luckily, I think I can make an exception on never making New Year’s resolutions for this Boots n’ All Indie Travel Challenge, because, well, I will travel. It’s what I love and what I do.
Places I want to go this year:
Budapest to enjoy the thermal baths and take a ride on the Children’s Railway. This has been one of those destinations that, while relatively easy to get to, has alluded me.
Tajikistan. If I can just work out how to get a visa or more importantly the Letter of Invitation…I’m there. And yes, this might not sound all that creative, but hey, I think just the country is pretty darn unusual to visit…don’t you?
Naples, Italy, to visit my sister before she moves and I miss that one opportunity.
Barcelona, Spain, to eat tapas and gawk at the Sagrada Familia.
Things I’d like to do this year:
Take an afternoon sommelier course in Napa Valley.
Tour the White House and another part of the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.
Buy some stools and maybe a cast iron bed in Cappadocia, Turkey.
Learn to cook/bake (?) a souffle…help!

Budapest is on my list too but not for this year – I’ll be excited to read about it! I lived in DC last year but I never did get around to getting in the White House since you have to get a congressman to get you in now… Best of luck on your list!

Love those two goals! I love the restaurant/food industry. I hope you can make those become a reality! Also, Washington D.C. is really cool. Just make sure that if you want a tour of the White House, you try to get tickets farrrr in advance, and the best thing about D.C. is that all the museums on the National Mall are free! Enjoy!
